How AI Metadata Cleaner handles privacy — files are processed locally in your browser.

Summary

AI Metadata Cleaner (aimetadatacleaner.pro) is a free browser tool. Image, video, PDF, and Camera RAW files you select are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your files to our servers for analysis or cleaning.

What we process locally

EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, C2PA/Content Credentials containers, and common AI generator text blocks in JPEG/PNG/WebP/AVIF/HEIC
Optional fingerprint protection: a light pixel-level perturbation (on by default for images; you can disable it)
Camera RAW (CR2/NEF/ARW/DNG and other LibRaw-supported formats): decoded in-browser with libraw-wasm and exported as a clean JPEG — the original RAW container is not rewritten in place; its metadata is dropped with the export
Video container/stream metadata stripping via ffmpeg.wasm running in your browser (the WASM engine may be downloaded from a public CDN or our site to your device on first use — still not uploaded to us)
PDF Info dictionary fields (title/author/subject/keywords/producer/creator/dates) via pdf-lib in your browser

Honest limits

We do not remove SynthID or other pixel-level / learned watermarks
We do not guarantee how any platform labels AI content
HEIC/AVIF/RAW clean exports as JPEG by default (browser/canvas encode limits)
Some proprietary RAW codecs or corrupt files may fail to decode; we show an error instead of pretending the RAW bytes were sanitized
PDF cleaning clears Info dictionary fields; it does not claim removal of all embedded XMP or third-party tracking streams
Video strip prefers stream-copy; rare containers may fail and will show an error instead of silently uploading
Very large RAW files may use half-resolution decode in-browser for memory limits

Accounts & payments

The MVP does not offer login or paid plans. If that changes, this policy will be updated before launch of those features.

Analytics & ads

AdSense slots may appear as placeholders. Real ads and analytics cookies are not enabled until you explicitly turn them on after approval. If analytics (for example Umami) is added later, we will disclose it here.
